“Fragrances don't have to be complicated.”
For Adriana Medina, it’s crucial for fragrances to have an evolution. “It’s like reading a book—you have the beginning, middle and end,” she says.
“That whole journey is extremely important.” Additionally, a perfume has to be powerful. “I don't like fragrances that are shy,” Adriana adds. “I want it to be like my personality: bubbly, bold, brave.”
To create perfumes with “guts,” as Adriana describes it, the Colombian native especially loves working with citrus, floral and woody notes. After graduating from college, Adriana’s first role was as a lab technician, so she learned perfumery on the job. Her favorite element of being a perfumer is the balance it requires. “It is a perfect combination of artistry and creativity, and at the same time, the scientific approach, it's the best of both worlds,” she says. Her sense of aesthetics, artistic touch and talent for creating memorable compositions make Adriana’s perfumery irresistible.
