The history of the brand begins in 1981, when its founder, Annick Goutal, pianist, model and perfume enthusiast, meets perfumer Henri Sorsana in Grasse, a moment that becomes the trigger to venture into the world of perfumery with her own brand of fragrances.
Inspired by her memories, emotions and personal experiences, Goutal's perfumes are characterised by their emotional narrative and the use of high quality ingredients as demonstrated by her first launch, Eau d'Hadrien, which was a resounding success at the time and is still one of the brand's most iconic fragrances.
After Annick Goutal's death, her daughter Camille Goutal has taken over the firm and maintains the values that have brought international recognition to this French perfume house.
